Just like when you were a kid, and the beginning of a new school year presented the opportunity to reinvent your look, fall is the time to update your hairstyle.
The Fall 2016 Trend:
What we’re noticing this season is tons of pliable texture. Gone are the days of super slick, heavily pomaded ‘dos. Right now is all about length, layers and hair you (or someone else) can run fingers through. And did we mention this look is super easy to style?
Take any cut you’ve been getting and go a little looser with it. You can still rock a pompadour or fade, just make it more modern with some extra length and a natural to matte styling finish. The great thing about this trend is that it’s more laidback and not as sharp as the retro looks of last year, so you can go longer in between cuts (6-8 weeks) without losing your style.
How To Style
Swap out your pomade for a styling cream or a texturizing wax/putty. A cream like Port Products Soft Hold Styling Créme will give your hair the separation, texture and subtle hold that defines the fall 2016 look. If you have thick hair and need some stronger hold, try LS&B Ruck Matte Putty for a no-shine, messy look with lots of volume. Use your fingers to shape, and don’t worry about it not being perfect. That’s the whole point.
